Director of Student Services
Available in July, SCGSSM seeks an energetic and experienced
leader for our Student Services Division.
Responsibilities Include:
• Develop and implement the student life program for a residential
campus including residence life and student activities
• Manage the daily operations of the residence hall
• Evaluate, supervise, and train all residential staff personnel and
work with outside constituencies (parents, facility providers, etc.) to
improve services
• Design and implement developmental, residential, and social
programs
• Counsel students pertaining to health and safety, conduct, and
personal-social concerns
Qualifications:
Combination of appropriate degree and successful experience managing a
residential environment will be considered. Five years experience
sought plus degree in a related field (master’s preferred) such as
student personnel services, counseling, and/or educational
administration.
This is a 12-month State of South Carolina position with full benefits. GSSM is an advanced public residential high school (grades 11 and 12)

COUNSELOR
Starting in August, GSSM seeks an effective counselor to support
advanced high school students.
Responsibilities:
• Provide a broad range of counseling services to gifted students in a
residential advanced high school in the following areas: stress
management, coping skills, peer and family relationships, anger
management, conflict resolution, depression, crisis management,
substance use and abuse, and group counseling (as needed)
• Provide programs on topics pertinent to teenagers and high school
students
• Offer training workshops for GSSM faculty and staff and consult
with them as necessary
• Work with campus community to include parents in meeting student
needs
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counselor Education,
or Social Work; Licensed (LPL, CCC, MSW, or equivalent); minimum of
five years successful experience working with teenagers and young adults
in counseling setting.
This is a 10-month part-time position (approximately 20 hours a week)
during afternoon/evening hours. GSSM is an advanced public residential
