Beginning with the Fall 2007 Semester, all computers brought for use in dormitories and classrooms must be registered prior to use on the GSSM computer network.
Registering a computer is easy and usually takes just two minutes, including the time it takes to restart your computer.
If you run into problems registering your computer, be sure to seek the assistance of a Natural Helper!
1. Make sure that you are the owner of the computer you are registering. If you are helping someone else, ask them to enter their own credentials.
2. Plug the computer’s network cable into the computer and the red network receptacle in the wall. Turn on the computer and wait for it to fully start.
3. Start a web-browser and go to any web site. The network registration page should appear automatically.
4. Read the instructions and information on the registration introduction page. Click the link at the bottom of the page to continue to registration.
5. Enter the FirstClass user id and password credentials that were supplied to you during registration.
6. Be sure that you have read and understand GSSM’s Appropriate Use Policy. Once you are ready to proceed, click the Accept button and follow the instructions on the web pages which follow.
