Official school announcements, homework, class handouts, Student Council minutes... they're all on our FirstClass system.
Each student is assigned a FirstClass account at registration. This account is used for official communication between students, teachers, and administration. Therefore, every GSSM student is required to check their FirstClass account regularly; at least daily when school is in session.
FirstClass accounts remain active during breaks, Summer Research, and summer break so that the entire community remains informed about important campus news and events.
Internet addresses generally follow this scheme:
{first initial}{last name}{grad year}@gssm.k12.sc.us
Example: Joan Smith is a member of the class of 2011. Her email address would be jsmith11@gssm.k12.sc.us
Sometimes, conflicts between people with similar names or names that are very long might require changing or shortening an email address from this format.
There is a FirstClass client software package for Windows, Apple, and Linux computers. You can download yours here, but you'll need your GSSM account before you can use it.
