Four S.C. Governor's School for Science and Mathematics seniors have been named candidates for the 2010 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The nearly 50-year-old program honors young people for outstanding academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship and community service.|strip_tags|stripslashes}
Thirteen S.C. Governor's School for Science and Mathematics students from the class of 2010 recently were named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program. They are among 15,000 students across the United States now vying for 8,200 scholarships worth more than $36 million that will be offered this spring.|strip_tags|stripslashes}
The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The Byerly Foundation, a $24 million private organization in Hartsville that aims to improve the quality of life for its residents and attract businesses, tourism and families to the area.|strip_tags|stripslashes}
